At Back in Balance we have a variety of treatments options to provide relief as quickly as possible. When considering how to treat each patient we listen to what you may feel is necessary and we will give you our honest opinion based on our experiences in cases like yours. It is truly a team approach. We are more than happy to communicate with your family doctor and other specialists as needed. We have on-site X-ray which may be recommended and we refer for MRI and CT scans as needed.
Our services Include:
Chiropractic Adjustments: The cornerstone of chiropractic care. We provide traditional hands on care as well as instrument assisted adjusting using state of the art instruments. If you have a preference we will listen. Some people respond better with hands on care and some respond better with the instruments. We prefer the treatment that gets you better faster. Dr. Falconer also uses a specialized table to assist in improving low back function. The table slowly moves up and down to provide a traction effect for relief of bulging and herniated discs causing sciatic like pain. Dr. Falconer has adjusted babies just hours old (his own) to a woman who was 102 years old. There is a benefit at any age.

Stabilization Exercises: We believe that just about everyone would benefit from doing some brief home exercises to keep your back and neck in shape. Dr, Falconer calls this spinal flossing as it should only take a moment to do and really helps prevent future problems. We aim to provide simple home exercise programs that can easily be understood and implemented if you choose to help yourself get better. As our name suggests, Balance is a part of our many programs and is integral to long term spinal health. We also can design programs for shoulder and knee as well as carpal tunnel syndrome. We also give some patients rubber tubing to continue their therapy at home.
Interferential Muscle Stimulation: A very relaxing therapy used to relax the muscles and provide relief. The machine produces a massaging effect over the affected area, and this stimulates the secretion of endorphins, the body’s natural pain relievers, thus relaxing the strained muscles and promotion soft-tissue healing. Often used with moist heat or ice depending on your condition.
Cervical Traction: For people suffering from disc injuries in their neck, especially those with pain or weakness in their arms, we offer cervical traction. It is a proven alternative to surgery for some patients. Traction forces are directed to the back of the head to prevent irritation of the TMJ. If you find it helpful, we can rent the unit for a low fee so you can continue at home.
Orthotics: We have state of the art computerized scanning equipment to analyze foot imbalances and arch deficiencies. For many, particularly those on their feel all day, this provides significant relief from pain in other areas, especially the knees, hips, and low back.
Kinesiotape: A treatment option to provide relief from pain and to facilitate the rehabilitation process. The wave pattern found on the tapes adhesive has a lifting effect on the skin which can reduce swelling and inflammation by improving circulation and reduce pain by taking pressure off pain receptors. The elastic properties can also be utilized in a mechanical fashion to limitation encourage a specific motion at a joint. Popularity has soared as evidenced by the popularity in the London Olympics. Kerri Walsh used it on her shoulder in her volleyball victories in Beijing and London, Lance Armstrong and Serena Williams have also used it in competition.
Ultra Sound: Often recommended to reduce inflammation and stimulate healing. Dr. Falconer most often uses it on plantar fasciitis and tendonitis type problems like tennis and golfers elbow.
VibraCussor®: The VibraCussor® is a type of massager that is very effective for releasing tight muscles and to promote relaxation. It is one of our patients favorites.
Biofreeze: We recommend Biofreeze to our patients to provide some temporary relief. If you would like to try it, just ask and we are happy to give you some samples. We also keep full size products in office available for purchase.
Nutritional Supplements: We will often discuss dietary habits with you and may make recommendations based on your habits and condition. Our most popular supplements are Multi-Vitamins, Omega 3 Fish Oils, Calcium and Vitamin D. We have fantastic Pre-Natal vitamins and a DHA supplement designed for pregnant and lactating women with a pleasant strawberry taste, We only use and sell top quality brands such as Pure Encapsulations, Nordic Naturals, Metagenics, Nutri-west and Standard Process.
